El Sartenazo: Reviews & Ratings
So everything was good we hadn't eaten here in a few years, and if I remembered right it was because of the price. So we ordered our food which was a dogo combo that is a bacon wrapped hot dog with fries and a drink the dogo was Absolutely amazing!! And a torta de lengua which was also good, 4 tacos that were also good and a shrimp cocktail. So ND order for 4 great meals came out to $78 and $15 tip so the food was great service was great place was clean and organized but I pry won't be back for $90 meal for 4 people oh and we had 4 jaritos I don't mind paying $90.for.a family of 4 but i don't think tacos hot dogs and tortas should be that much

El Sartenazo is a vibrant Mexican restaurant nestled in Rupert, Idaho, serving authentic dishes that bring the rich flavors of Mexico to the heart of the Pacific Northwest. Located at 507 F St, this eatery prides itself on offering classic Mexican staples such as Carne Asada, Birria, Street Tacos, Pozole, Tilapia, Menudo, and Sope, all prepared with care and tradition.
On my visit, the standout was undoubtedly the Carne Asada—tender, well-seasoned, and grilled to perfection. The Birria delivered a deep, savory richness that spoke volumes of slow-cooked excellence. The Street Tacos offered a bright, fresh balance with their minimal yet bold ingredients and soft corn tortillas, making each bite memorable.
One cannot talk about El Sartenazo without mentioning their Tortas and specialty combos. The bacon-wrapped hot dog, known as the "dogo combo," comes with fries and a drink and was surprisingly delightful. It added a creative twist to typical Mexican comfort food, combining flavors in a way that is both familiar and exciting. Similarly, the Torta de Lengua brought a robust taste profile—rich and satisfying.
The menu extends beyond these highlights, featuring seafood options like Tilapia and the iconic shrimp cocktail, which add a refreshing contrast to the hearty meat dishes. Pozole and Menudo, traditional Mexican soups, showcase the depth of the kitchen’s capability in delivering complex flavors and textures.
While the quality of the food impresses, feedback about pricing suggests it leans towards the higher side for casual Mexican fare. Nevertheless, the service remains attentive, and the dining space is clean and well-organized, contributing to an enjoyable experience. For those seeking authentic Mexican flavors prepared with a touch of creativity and care, El Sartenazo is a notable destination in Rupert's culinary scene.
